A client with a large, treed garden in Johannesburg who loves birds, asked if 2 pieces, namely a Heron and a Bushbaby, could be customized to feed birds. I wouldn’t normally alter sculptures in this way, but I love birds too and it’s important to look after them in the urban landscape, this made sense. The bushbaby is mounted on a long pole that has small branches to hold seed balls, and the heron has a table for fresh fruit balanced on the beak.
