Charcoal

This work on paper is based predominantly but not exclusively on charcoal, also making use of pencil, pastel and/or oil paint. Most is on Fabriano paper.

The focus of this work started with baobab trees, working towards a series of 100 Views of Baobabs, inspired by Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker Katsushika Hokusai’s famous series One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji. The more recent work worls more into fantasy and abstraction.
